Hartshorne High School student Brooklyn Autrey, along with Lakewood Christian School student Jenessa Dugger, spoke to Hartshorne 4th and 5th grade elementary students about the Oklahoma 4-H organization today. Brooklyn Autrey also presented a speech on bullying and the importance of treating others with respect and kindness. Great job ladies!

The Hartshorne Miners will be hosting the Woodland Cougars on Friday, November 11th at 7pm at Butler-Jennings Stadium for the 1st round of the state football playoffs. For this Friday's game, the OSSAA is allowing veterans and 1 additional guest to be admitted FREE of charge. GoFan digital ticketing will be used for this game. Members of the Hartshorne Marching Miners competed at the All-District Band Contest in Durant on Saturday, November 5. Based on their auditions, several students have now qualified to participate in the Honor Band Clinic and Concert in January. Congratulations to Ms. Rosso and the following students: Jay'Vion Proctor, Dallas Green, Nolan Tucker, Tennyson Wilcox, Savannah Guteirrez-Keel, Cicilia Wilson, and Adrian Peevy.

SEVERE WEATHER UPDATE The Hartshorne Event Center is now OPEN as a shelter. The Hartshorne area is under a Tornado Watch and has just been placed under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning.

WEATHER UPDATE We have added extra buses to make our routes shorter, today. All students and staff will be off campus by 3:15 and some bus riders will arrive home earlier than normal. Thank you for an orderly pickup. Stay safe and watch for updates on our app and social media.

WEATHER UPDATE Due to the threat of severe weather during our afternoon bus routes, all buildings will allow parents to start picking up students at 1:30 today without being counted absent. Buses will still run for those who are not able to be picked up early.

Tomorrow, Nov. 3, there will be no After School Program (MELLO) at both sites (ES & MS). Program will resume Monday, Nov. 7th.

FOOTBALL UPDATE The Miners final regular season game at Liberty has been moved to Thursday night due to the threat of severe weather on Friday. Kickoff will remain at 7pm.

REMINDER: There will be NO Elementary After School Program (MELLO) tomorrow, Oct. 31st.

Middle School: Tomorrow wraps up Red Ribbon Week. If you choose to participate by wearing a costume, remember it must meet school dress code. Also, no masks or face paint. Costumes will not be allowed on Monday. Also — no MELLO on Monday.

Congratulations to the Hartshorne Marching Miners Color Guard! They competed at the Oklahoma Superior contest in Checotah on Wednesday, October 26. They performed their routine to "Blues Brothers Rockin' Soul Review," and received a 1 (superior). Members competing were Alyssa Miller, Janie Jackson, Lilyanna Lamar, and Eden Stringer. Alyssa got a 2 (excellent) on her solo and Janie Jackson got a 1 (superior) on her solo. Congratulations students and Mrs. Rosso!
